Gift Ideas

It may seem insanely early to be thinking about Christmas but often times, if you are anything like me, the choosing and purchasing of gifts, especially for family members, tends to run a little close to the wire; usually because I have no clue what to get, at least not off the top of my head.

In the run up to the Handm@de fair on the 9th of November we'll be asking you for your Christmas  gift conundrums, such as what to get your cousin's boyfriend, and making suggestions from the wealth of lovely and useful items the designers who will be attending Handm@de have to offer.

Think of it as a Gift Agony Aunt column if you will ;-)

I have a few ideas about who I find it difficult to buy for every time birthdays and christmas roll around...

My Grandad! He gets a box of thorntons toffee, a new flat cap or some socks. He is countryfied through and through, typical old man, and likes to drink at 'the club'. So, any help or suggestions here would be gratefully received.

My Dad. Although he is pretty good at telling us what he wants it would be nice to have an idea of 'extras' that he could have, you know, the £5 things!

My Other Half. The Lanky One. Mr Grumpy. He doesn't much like christmas, though last year I was a little extravagant and got him a Wii. Can't afford that much this year though. He is very tall, so clothes are out of the question...

Hey - look at that. They're all men! Does everyone have trouble with them, or just me?

I think all the man are a bit trouble, when you know what to get them it costs so much and if you don`t have the money you can`t find anything nice... ;/ so I keep looking and looking and always find something odd... would be nice if they appreciate handmade gifts like my husband I always know what to give him but my Dad and Grandad - well...
